    Hell, also known as the Underworld,[1] Sheol,[2] and the Rock of Finality,[3] is an extradimensional plane of existence that is split into several regions. One such region is ruled by Lucifer Morningstar, whereas two more are ruled by the Triumvirate of Hell.[4]

    Praetori and The Gull[edit | hide]

    At some point, the Triumvirate of Hell took over two regions of Hell, inducing a sense of fear and respect over its denizens. Over the years, Hell served as a prison for damned souls, though some were wrongfully sent to Hell by mistake.

    In 2014, a failed resurrection of Natalie Logue led to a demon summoned by John Constantine. The demon possessed the daughter of Natalie, Astra, with Constantine summoning Nergal to defeat the weaker demon. However, Nergal did not keep the agreement and dragged Astra to Hell, guilting Constantine for years.[5] Astra soon rose to a high position in Hell despite growing up while suffering.[6]

    Constantine later sent an acetate which recorded the voice of Satan to Hell, opening a red-lit pathway to Hell.[7]

    Between 2015 and 2016, Constantine was sent to Hell and returned months later in May 2016.[8][9]

    After releasing Mallus from his realm, various magical creatures escaped as well and began to wreak havoc to the timeline. The Legends of Tomorrow then enlisted the assistance of John Constantine, who began preparing for a banishment to send the creatures to Hell.[10] However, they realized that they were not aware of the fugitives' true selves and decided to stop sending them to Hell, starting with Charlie.[11]

    While the Legends pursued the "Magical Fugitives", Neron began his invasion to make Earth as Hell. As Neron possessed the body of Ray Palmer, Constantine voluntarily entered Hell in order to rescue his soul. Nora Darhk, as a Fairy Godmother, was also accidentally sent to Hell in search of him.[12] Constantine was given a choice by Satan, choosing to bring Ray Palmer or Astra Logue back to the portal plane. He chose the latter due to his guilt, but she refused to do so as she already lived a long life in the Underworld. Constantine and Nora then brought Ray Palmer back to Earth, soon thwarting Neron's invasion.[6][13]

    By 2020, Astra Logue began asking for Lachesis' help in sending notorious souls moments after their deaths. The Legends then searched for them and later discovered that they were all part of Lachesis and Atropos plan to restore the Loom of Fate.[14][15]
