Vixen: The Movie is a 2017 film based on the DC Comics character, Vixen and the first film in the Arrowverse. It was released on May 8, 2017, digitally and physically on May 23, 2017.
The film stars Megalyn Echikunwoke and is directed by James Tucker and Curt Geda, written by numerous writers including Wendy Mericle, Keto Shimizu, Brian Ford Sullivan, Lauren Certo, Nolan Dunbar and Sarah Tarkoff.
While being released as a film, the content is, in fact, a combination of episodes from the first and second season of Vixen with additional footage.
Synopsis[edit source]
Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe grew up an orphan after her parents were killed by local greed, corruption and wanton violence. But Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her. Inheriting her family's Tantu Totem, Mari can access the powers of animals – anything from the strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights valiantly to protect the world from threats like those that claimed her family.[1]
