“ | Did what I had to. Shape-shifting into whatever monster would keep the others off my back. You know exactly what it's like. Pretending to be something worse than you are to survive. Well, there's that. And there's finding someone you trust. I did time in supermax with my old partner. It's hard to plot against a team. I spent all my time shape-shifting and running. I never stuck around one place long enough to find anyone who I could trust. Well... you gotta start somewhere. |

Clotho, better known as Charlie, is the sister of Fates, Lachesis and Atropos, and the former spinner of the Loom of Fate.
After being freed by the Legends and sent to London 1977, Charlie created multiple Time Aberrations and caught the team's attention. However, she was able to use the appearance of Amaya Jiwe and delay her banishment to Hell, allowing her to slowly create a bond with the Legends and eventually became the Waverider's resident magic consultant.
Thanks to the Crisis, Charlie's scattering the Loom of Fate across the Original Multiverse eventually gathered the pieces back on one universe. This caused the Fates to once again reunited and searched for the loom. Charlie soon revealed her true identity to the Legends and was asked by John Constantine and Astra Logue to restore the life of Natalie Logue. Unfortunately, the Legends were killed in action while battling Zombies in London, while Charlie deceived the Fates into keeping the Legends alive in a TV Universe and joining them.
The Legends later escaped the TV Universe and fled the Loomworld before finding Charlie displayed as the most notorious villain of time. Charlie was brainwashed into thinking that free will does not exist before Lita successfully reminded her about the benefits of chaos, encouraging her to assist the Legends in the battle against Lachesis' Encores. Days after the battle, Charlie decided to leave the Legends of Tomorrow and return to her familiar home of London 1977, after performing with The Smell to the Legends.

Powers and Abilities[edit | hide]
Powers[edit | hide]
- Deity Physiology: Like her sisters, Lachesis and Atropos, Clotho was born with mystical abilities, allowing her to access dangerous artifacts such as the Loom of Fate and serve as humanity's spinner of fate.[8]
- Death Inducement: Clotho claimed that her true form would be extremely harmful to mortals, capable of exploding their eyes with her voice capable of exploding their eyes.[8]
- Immortality: Like other deities, Clotho can live for an extended period of time, in addition to her ability to shape-shift being able to restart her lifespan ever transformation.[15]
- Inter-Dimensional Travel: Clotho was able to leave Mount Olympus and hide from her sisters on Earth-1 after scattering the Loom of Fate across multiple universes.[8]
- Shape-Shifting: In order to hide her true form from mortals, Clotho has the ability of shape-shifting, which can alter her body into the appearances of both humans and other magical creatures, such as Tagumo. However, her power to shape-shifting was briefly "lobotomized" by John Constantine until the effects of Constantine's spell faded away over time. As the spell faded away, Clotho retained a limited amount of power to shape-shift, though required stronger concentration and strength to do so. Eventually, her ability to shape-shift returned to full capacity. Despite regaining her abilities, Clotho stayed in the form of Amaya Jiwe, as it was the first form she changed into when she met the Legends of Tomorrow.[2][6][15]
- Regenerative Healing Factor: As Charlie has a full control over the physiology of her body, she can easily will herself to heal from injuries such as a broken neck, stab wounds and a bullet through the chest. However, it appears that this ability does not apply to all injuries, as she was extremely frightened of death when faced with multiple gunmen.[4][8]
- Zoolingualism: When Zari Tomaz was transformed into a cat, Charlie was still able to communicate with her.[4]
Former Powers[edit | hide]
- Powers via the Loom of Fate: Since millennia ago, Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos were tasked with writing the fates of mortals with the Loom of Fate, preventing the existence of free will. This was the case until Clotho betrayed her sisters and scattered the pieces of the loom across the multiverse, resulting in the creation of free will. Unfortunately, the loom was reunited on one plane when the crisis destroyed the original multiverse and reunited all pieces on one plane.[8]
- Life Creation: Clotho was the Spinner of Fate, with her overseeing the births of mortal beings.[8]
- Resurrection: Clotho, while using the loom alongside other powerful mystic beings, can allegedly resurrect mortal beings.[16]
- Sisterly Bond: When the pieces of loom exist on one plane, the Fates can communicate with each other through faint voices.[17]
- Time Manipulation: Splitting a thread of the loom into two, Clotho was able to separate Zari Tomaz and Zari Tarazi, though was unaware of the consequences of indirectly causing Behrad Tarazi's death.[12]
- ATOM Exosuit Capabilities: Charlie briefly wore the ATOM Exosuit while evading the Legends, and was shown to be quite skilled in the controls without any prior training.[2]
- Energy Blasters/Photon Cannons: When Charlie faced the Legends, she activated the blasts of compressed light beams from the forearm of the suit.[2]
Abilities[edit | hide]
- Hand-to-Hand Combat: Charlie was able to defeat multiple trained field agents of the Time Bureau with ease.[18]
- Occult Knowledge: During her time imprisoned in the Realm of Mallus, Clotho acquired information on countless mystical beings, with her using said information as an occult consultant on the Waverider.[11]
- Music: Charlie is the lead singer of the 1970s rock punk band, The Smell.[2]
Weaknesses[edit | hide]
Former Weaknesses[edit | hide]
- Lobotomy Spell: Constantine cast a spell that he compared to a lobotomy, which inhibited Charlie's ability to shape-shift. The effects of the spell ultimately faded away with Charlie retaining a limited ability to shape-shift, and later regained its full capacity over time.[2][15]
