The Flash is a television series based on the DC Comics character, The Flash.
The series is developed by Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo, with the first and only season premiering on September 20, 1990, and concluding on May 18, 1991, ending the short series with 22 episodes in total.
While a another series based on The Flash in the Arrowverse was developed decades later, it had no obvious connections to its predecessor. However, the thirteenth episode of the second season, Welcome to Earth-2, featured archive footage from the 1990 series and connected both series as part of a greater Multiverse. In the Elseworlds crossover event, Barry Allen returned with John Wesley Shipp reprising his role and was featured in the Crisis on Infinite Earths event, concluding his story as The Flash nearly 30 years later.
