    "The Trial of the Trickster" is the twenty-second and final episode of the first season of The Flash, and the twenty-second and final episode overall. It aired on May 18, 1991.

    With the help of an insane admirer who wants to be his sidekick, the Trickster escapes from police custody and places the Flash under his mind control.

    • This episode, along with "The Trickster", was aired following the cancellation of The Flash​​ as the TV movie, The Flash II: Revenge of the Trickster​​.
    • The fact that Prank used laughing gas to help James escape is a reference to the fact that the DC character the Joker used laughing gas to kill people. Joker is also a character Mark Hamill is known to voice.
    • Jesse mentioned Metropolis which is the home of the superhero Superman.
