GCPD[1] is a spin-off television series of The Batman based on the DC Comics organization, the Gotham City Police Department.
The series was developed by Matt Reeves with Joe Barton serving as showrunner. GCPD serves as a prequel to The Batman and is set in the first year of Bruce Wayne's vigilantism.
On March 8, 2022, Reeves announced that the series would not be moving forward.[2]
On October 25, 2022, it was announced the series is back in development.[3]
