The Encores were souls of those that committed horrendous acts in their lives and later brought to the mortal plane by Astra Logue as foils against the Legends of Tomorrow.

History

Astra Logue's Encores

Grigori Rasputin, the first Encore

After John Constantine's brief time in Hell led to his reunion with Astra Logue, Logue began her own crusade against him, angered towards his inability to save her from a demon possession. Logue then acquired Soul Tokens of some of history's worst villains, and began resurrecting them with supernatural abilities. The Legends of Tomorrow were then in conflict with the Encores, as dubbed by Mona Wu, and travelled across space and time to return the souls to their rightful place in Hell.

Truce

Constantine and Tarazi fights the Encores

Logue ultimately joined the Legends when they promised that they would acquire the Loom of Fate to resurrect her deceased Natalie Logue, with her Encore crusade being halted. However, Encores were still sent after Constantine and Zari Tarazi as they were mistakenly sent back in time with a failed spell. This was soon revealed to be the work of Lachesis, who was also in search of the loom.

Chaos

Battle at the History Museum

After the Loomworld was destroyed, the Legends jumped four months in time and found out that Lachesis had used Gideon to manipulate people's decision and free will. The Legends then ambushed Lachesis at the History Museum, and fought against the resurrected Encores. With Charlie's assistance, the Legends were able to fully eradicate the Encores with Hellfire Weapons.
