    Legends of Tomorrow (Earth-1: Pre-Crisis)

We're the Legends of Tomorrow. We got something those hotshots don't have. That's experience... experience at failing.

The Legends of Tomorrow, or simply known as the Legends, are a team of individuals formed by Rip Hunter to prevent Vandal Savage's uprise.[1] After the destruction of the Time Masters, they stepped up to be the last line of defense for the timeline.

In the Loomworld, they were also briefly known as the God Killers due to their actions of killing Atropos. The team also operated as the Guggenheim Circus and The Bullet Blondes while stranded in 1925, shortly after the destruction of the Waverider.

    History[edit | hide | hide all]

Year One: An Important Mission[edit | hide]

    Rip Hunter's Legends
Remember, you are Legends. You were chosen because you are each uniquely suited to the most important mission time has ever known.

In 2015, Rip Hunter recruited Ray Palmer, Martin Stein, Jefferson Jackson, Sara Lance, Carter Hall, Kendra Saunders, Mick Rory and Leonard Snart on his quest to defeat the immortal Vandal Savage.[2][3]

Year Two: Last Line of Defense[edit | hide]

The Legends became the last line of defense of history and fought against criminals across the timeline. Later, the Legends encountered the Spear of the Destiny.[4]

Year Three: Totems of Zambesi[edit | hide]

Sometimes, we screw things up for the better.
That's good, we should use that.

In 2017, the Legends started searching for the Totems of Zambesi and used them to form a giant Beebo, destroying Mallus and saving the timeline.[4][5]

    Year Four: Board-Certified Superheroes[edit | hide]

In 2018, the Legends worked under the Time Bureau's orders and maintained the timeline's structure. However, they were quickly encountered by Neron, a Demon from Hell with ties to John Constantine. The Legends then worked with Constantine as a reluctant member, only to let Ray Palmer being possessed by Neron. Luckily, the Legends created Heyworld and defeated Neron on national television.[6]

Months later, the Time Bureau was shut down by the United States Government, with the Legends working covertly and known to the world as a group of fictional superheroes created by Kevin Harris' Meet the Legends documentary.[6]

Year Five: Meet Your Fates[edit | hide]

    The Legends vs. the Encores

During the process of rescuing Ray Palmer's soul from Hell, Constantine asked for Astra Logue's help, placing her as a powerful figure of Hell when Neron fell. Logue then summoned a group of damned souls across time and resurrected them, fighting the Legends. However, Logue was unaware of the manipulations of Lachesis and was betrayed by the Fates. The Legends then fought against both the Encores and the Fates, freeing people from being controlled by the Loom of Fate by destroying it once and for all.[7]

Year Six: Into the Cosmos[edit | hide]

While celebrating for their successful battle against the Fates, Sara Lance was kidnapped by aliens. The Legends then searched for her but found aliens being scattered across time, knowing it was Lance's doing. Mick Rory then worked with the alien Kayla and travelled to Pliny X-19, fighting Bishop and bringing Lance home. With Lance back on the team, the Legends once more searched for Pod Aliens.[8][9]

The Legends prepares for the invasion

Bishop ultimately returned, with Kayla hijacking the Waverider and printing him a new body. Manipulating Constantine, Bishop successfully located and incapacitated the Fountain of Imperium, allowing his Zagurons to enter Earth and wipe out humanity. The Legends then traveled to Odessa, Texas in 1925, staying at Spooner Cruz's mother's residence, while holding a wedding for their co-captains and thwarting the invasion at the same time. Their co-captain's love soon gained the recognition of the fountain, restoring it to full power and annihilating the Zagurons.[10][11]

Year Seven: No Way Home[edit | hide]

After defeating the Zagurons, the Legends returned to the Waverider. However, another Waverider exited the Temporal Zone and destroyed their Timeship, stranding the team in 1925. Using instructions in the Time Bureau manual, the Legends went on a trip to New York City in search of Dr. Gwyn Davies, who laid the foundations of time travel itself. Unfortunately, while Davies' time machine worked with their assistance, it landed in a wrong location and time period. The Legends then encountered Bishop once more, whom they kidnapped to thwart the invasion previously. Bishop admitted that he was disoriented after the previous encounter, and was hellbent on getting his revenge by destroying their Waverider with the help of a Gideon replica. Later, Bishop created the Neural Navigation Interface for more accurate time jumps, though was killed when the Legends' android counterparts led by the Gideon replica attacked.[11][12][13][14][15]

    The Legends are arrested

The Legends soon realized they needed to attract the attention of the androids by destroying a Fixed Point, selectively the Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Their plan succeeded, though resulted in the deaths of countless other time travelers. Regardless, the Legends came face-to-face with their android counterparts, and were able to eliminate all of them while hijacking the Waverider replica. Even though they returned to their home, "Evil Gideon" demanded them to retire from protecting time, as they often cause more aberrations than erasing them. The Legends ultimately regrouped as they realized "Evil Gideon" ejected Gary Green to the Temporal Zone, and Davies was killed in an attempt to save his boyfriend. With the help of fixer "Mike", they were able to rescue Thomas from dying in the Capture of Mametz. Unfortunately, "Mike" stole the Waverider and led the Time Police to the team. After "Mike" revealed his identity as Booster Gold, the Time Police arrested the Legends of Tomorrow for their crimes, much to their frustration.[16][17][18]
