Biography[edit | hide | hide all]
Wielder of the Dark Arts[edit | hide]
Damien Darhk was born decades before the early 21st century, around 1759, with him later acquiring the knowledge of the mystic arts and becoming a wielder of Dark Magic. The Dark Magic he wielded kept him alive for years, with him placing his influence on different factions of society.[5][8]
Quest for the Spear of Destiny[edit | hide]
During his years of expanding his influence, Darhk was recruited by Eobard Thawne to assist in his quest to obtain the mystical Spear of Destiny, a Biblical artifact that could rewrite reality. Together with Thawne, Malcolm Merlyn, Leonard Snart and Mick Rory, the Legion of Doom was formed, briefly creating the alternate reality known as Doomworld. Unfortunately, the reality did not last long, with Rory betraying the team for the Legends and Darhk was placed back to his original place in time, where he was meant to become an enemy of the Green Arrow.[19]
Emerald Archer[edit | hide]
By 2016, Darhk's influence had spread to Star City, where he became an enemy of the Green Arrow. In their year-long conflict, Darhk murdered Laurel Lance, the Black Canary, in cold blood, with this soon putting him in a feud against Lance's sister, Sara. Lance's death was later avenged when Darhk was killed by the Green Arrow, with his soul being sent to Hell.[8]
The Six[edit | hide]
Eventually, Darhk was resurrected by his daughter from the future, Nora, who became a member of the Order of the Shrouded Compass after the death of her father. Nora also became the host of the demon Mallus, who Darhk allied himself with and was slowly liberated with Time Aberrations. Crossing paths with the Legends of Tomorrow once more, Darhk realized that Mallus' liberation would mean Nora's death, and decided to take her place as the host of Mallus.[8][11]
In Salvation, 1874, Darhk was transformed into the vessel of Mallus, and was used as a tool to threaten all of time. The Legends then wielded the six Totems of Zambesi, conjuring a giant Beebo and defeating Mallus in the process. With Mallus destroyed, Darhk was also killed, and his daughter was able to be saved from her fate.[8]
Resurrected as an Encore[edit | hide]
As part of Astra Logue's feud with John Constantine, Darhk was resurrected on Earth-Prime and immediately stole Gary Green's Time Courier to 2020. Surprising his daughter at the Constantine Mansion, Darhk announced his return and thought Nora had become a powerful warlock, like he had always hoped. Unbeknownst to Darhk, Nora was, in fact, a Fairy Godmother and the henchpeople she led were her friends. Disappointed by the fact that the Legends had made his daughter soft, Darhk attacked the team, knocking Constantine away and choking Ray Palmer to near death. However, Pippa, Nora's host, wished for the Legends and Darhk to enter Mister Parker's Cul De Sac.[8]
On Mister Parker's Cul De Sac, Darhk attempted to express her anger and frustration towards her daughter, but soon realized that her role as a Fairy Godmother was not the result of joining the Legends, and was instead her own choice. Darhk reconciled with his daughter, and allowed the Legends to be released from the show.[8]
Later, Darhk gave Palmer and Nora the blessing of marriage, and remained present at the wedding. With limited time before his failure was discovered by Logue, Darhk told Palmer that Nora's new job would require a life outside of the Waverider, and attempted to also make amends with Sara Lance. Lance did not accept Darhk's apology, as he had expected. With him having closure with Nora and the Legends, Darhk left the mansion with the Hellfire Sword, committing suicide where he would not be seen by anyone.[8]
Reverse Flashpoint[edit | hide]
Horrific Acts[edit | hide]
In the Reverse Flashpoint created by Eobard Thawne, Nora was killed, and Darhk was responsible for the murder of Cisco Ramon, the Legends of Tomorrow and Ray Palmer. The new timeline established Darhk and Barry Allen as members of the Legion of Doom, with Darhk himself arrested for his crimes and Allen being a fugitive from the law.[11]
Aiding The Flash[edit | hide]
In 2031, Darhk was released from Iron Heights Penitentiary on a technicality, six months after his conviction. Darhk returned to his penthouse, where he was approached by Allen. Allen convinced Darhk to assist him in restoring the timeline, with Darhk proposing to use the Particle Eradication Distributor to achieve a timeline reset.[11]
Darhk and Allen then infiltrated S.T.A.R. Labs, though were discovered by Team Flash. Darhk initially thought to murder Chester P. Runk and Ryan Choi, only for Allen to convince him otherwise. Returning to the penthouse, Darhk discovered that Allen was a hero and Thawne was the villain in their conflict, threatening to kill Allen. Allen convinced Darhk to spare his life and work together, hoping to restore the timeline and bring back Nora Darhk.[11]
While Allen and Thawne chased across the globe to gather enough speed to open a portal, Darhk fought against Team Flash. Frost and Chillblaine were briefly able to take the upper hand with assistance from Constantine's Protection Spell. As Darhk struggled to combat Team Flash, the timeline was reset, with the Time Stone soon pulling Darhk across space and time to the new timeline.[11]
Taking Nora's Place[edit | hide]
Upon returning to 2021, Allen found Darhk in the West House. Darhk theorized that his survival was related to his bond with the Time Stone. Later, Darhk conversed with Joe West, still guilted by his survival over his daughter. Mere seconds after gifting West the stone, Darhk was transported to an illuminated space, where he bid final farewells to Nora Darhk and switched places with her.[20]
Bearing Witness to All of Time[edit | hide]
Months later, Iris West-Allen was sent inside the Time Stone after her "death". Darhk revealed himself, telling her that his consciousness was imprinted on the Time Stone and thus was able to talk to her. West-Allen remained confused, still hoping to return to the real world. With guidance from Darhk, West-Allen realized that her spark with Barry Allen was powerful enough to pull her away from the Time Stone, with Darhk having a proud smile on his face as she left him.[9]
