This episode revealed that Cecile Horton's mother passed away in 1995.
Cisco Ramon said that Eobard Thawne has "Linda Blair'd" Nash Wells, referencing the actor's role as the possessed child Regan MacNeil in The Exorcist films.
Cisco Ramon relates multiple psyches in a single brain as "Tyler Durden times 1000", referencing the split personality of the protagonist of the Fight Club film. Thawne overheard and was about to quote the first rule of Fight Club, before being cut off.
The color red is the third color used for Thawne disappearance.
