The sixth season of The Flash premiered on October 8, 2019, and concluded on May 12, 2020. The season consists of 19 episodes.

Synopsis

Reeling from the loss of Nora, Barry throws himself into work, defeating a record number of metas over the summer, while the rest of Team Flash deals with changes of their own – Cisco, having taken the metahuman cure, is no longer Vibe, Joe is now Captain of CCPD, DA Cecile Horton is now considering leaving the district attorney's office, and Ralph Dibny is now searching for a missing heiress named Sue Dearbon. But all of that is put on hold when Dr. Ramsey Rosso, intent on curing death, is overtaken by his own desperation and ambition giving birth to a new villain, Bloodwork.

Notes

• Due to the 2019-2020 Coronavirus Pandemic, this season only has 19 episodes.
  • This makes this season the first one to not have 22 or more episodes.
  • All's Wells That Ends Wells was already 90% filmed at the time of production shutdown. As a result, Success Is Assured was repurposed as the season finale, while "All's Wells That Ends Wells" was moved to Season 7 along other written episodes for Reflections and Lies. Additionally, scenes including Hartley Sawyer in "All's Wells That Ends Wells" were all removed following his firing, and his role was reduced to a minimum and rewritten to be portrayed by a stand-in.
