There are multiple universes all existing in the same time and the same space. Others refer to this as the multiverse.

The Multiverse is the term used to describe the infinite number of universes created by the Spectre during the Crisis, replacing the Original Multiverse destroyed by the Anti-Monitor.

    Oliver battles the Anti-Monitor

After the Crisis on Infinite Earths destroyed the Original Multiverse, the Paragons were sent to the Vanishing Point, protecting them from the Anti-Monitor's reach.[1] Meanwhile, the deceased Oliver Queen was trained by Jim Corrigan in Purgatory to succeed him as The Spectre. Oliver soon completed his training and approached the Paragons, giving Barry Allen a boost in his connection to the Speed Force for him to rewrite the timeline and prevent the Crisis from happening. However, the Paragons soon realized that despite stopping Mar Novu's liberation of the Anti-Monitor, there will still be a Mar Novu in the infinite universes who did the same. As a result, they traveled to the Antimatter Universe and battled the Shadow Demons while Oliver battled the Anti-Monitor. At the Dawn of Time, Oliver sacrificed himself and created the New Multiverse, with the Paragons being the only ones who remember the event of the Original Multiverse.[2][3]

    A Whole New World[edit | hide]

    The heroes of Earth-Prime

While the Paragons returned to their lives, they discovered that their new universe, Earth-Prime, was created by merging much of Earth-1, Earth-38, and Black Lightning's home universe. Using J'onn J'onzz's abilities, they were able to restore the minds of their allies and close friends, but refused to do so for the entire world, afraid that it would cause a huge impact on society.[3][4] Soon after sending the Anti-Monitor to the Microverse, the heroes returned to their hometown and discovered the repercussions of the Crisis, including refugees from the Original Multiverse, the minds of Harrison Wellses being tangled with Nash's, major changes to reality, the merger of the Phantom Zone and the death of the Speed Force.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]

Unbeknownst to the denizens of Earth-Prime, the Crisis did not just recreate one universe, but rather created an infinite amount more, including recreating major universes destroyed during the Crisis. However, due to the Crisis changing the physics of inter-dimensional traveling, universes are no longer separated through vibrations. As a result, portals are no longer being able to open a doorway between universes, and organic Breaches are not even able to be opened by Vibers.[8]

    Notes[edit | hide]

    • Unlike the Original Multiverse, the New Multiverse was, in fact, introduced long before the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, with multiple series and films set in the Multiverse premiering/airing before the event itself. The crossover event served as a reorganization of the universes, giving them official designation and confirming them to take place in the same Multiverse as opposed to being completely disconnected from each other.
