A man with many faces, Jefferson Pierce is a respected educator and father of two. He's also Black Lightning, superpowered protector of Freeland with the ability to sense and harness electricity. Jefferson is not the only one with powers and multiple faces. His oldest daughter, Anissa is a medical student, health clinic volunteer and dedicated social activist. She's also the superhero known as Thunder who's able to drastically increase her density, giving her invulnerability and super strength. Finally, Jefferson's youngest daughter, Jennifer is a fiery teen who inherited her father's athletic gifts and his superpowers. Her body generates pure electrical energy with the potential to be more powerful than Anissa or Jefferson. Together, the Pierce family faces the challenges of the declined urban community that is Freeland, including infamous gangster Tobias Whale and a menacing gang that calls itself The 100.[1]
