Biography[edit | hide | hide all]
Spy Life[edit | hide]
At some point, Gambi and Lauren Caruso met and worked together in Morocco, she also shot at Gambi. Later, Gambi attempted to recruit Lauren into the ASA, which she denied and joined the CIA.[12]
Since 1991, Gambi has been the foster father of Jefferson Pierce.[13]
Prior to the War for Freeland, Gambi faked his death in order to escape Lady Eve's assassination.[8]
War for Freeland[edit | hide]
One Year Later[edit | hide]
A year after the War for Freeland, Jefferson attacked several police officers after witnessing an unjust arrest. Gambi then assisted him in covering his tracks and erased all security footage.[8]
Return of an Old Friend[edit | hide]
Later, Gambi went to meet with an old friend, Lauren Caruso, who offered Gambi a position in Monovista International, where he could monitor systems, protocols and assets. However, Gambi declined the offer and returned to The Sanctum, monitoring the team on an ambush on The 100.[8]
Infiltration into Monovista[edit | hide]
Now knowing the Freeland PD plans to utilize DEG (direct energy guns) as weapons against Metahumans, he then visited Lauren at Monovista and was offered a flexible wage as well as participation in research and development, allowing him to take the job and acquire information that would harm the team.[12]
Afterward, Jefferson questioned Gambi on who targeted Jennifer. As Gambi was still busy, he did not answer Jefferson's questions, and he turned to T.C. for assistance.[12]
Soon, Gambi researched on the DEGs and discovered that it could penetrate the suits after testing them on an old suit.[14]
A few days later, Gambi asked T.C. to find flaws in the DEGs to delay the distribution of the weapons. As he searched, Gambi investigated whether Tobias has been doing anything illegal in his "Freeland Reconstruction Program", with everything being legal.[9]
Picking Up the Pieces[edit | hide]
After Jennifer's explosion in the Ionosphere, Gambi brainstormed that by using a Hadron Particle Condenser could restore Jennifer's body. However, the device is located in S.T.A.R. Labs in Central City and Jefferson asked a friend to deliver the device quickly. Jefferson then wore his Black Lightning suit and flew to the Ionosphere in order to absorb all energy of Jennifer, eventually transferring them into the condenser with the help of Gambi and T.C.[13]
Hours later, Gambi and T.C. reopened the condenser, only to find Jennifer in there with a different appearance, shocking the entire team.[13]
As Jefferson demanded Gambi to bring her Jennifer back, he responded that the person is Jennifer, and it was a miracle that she survived at all. Jefferson later questioned Gambi whether Jennifer is an alien, in reference to his experience with Superman. Gambi was disappointed in his skepticism and emphasized that it was a miracle that she survived.[15]
Gambi then returned to Monovista and worked with Lauren on the Energy Field Emitter, a device based on Tesla's ideas and can power the entirety of Freeland with clean energy.[15]
Gambi later returned to work at the building and gifted Lauren a Go board, representing their relationship. However, the Go board was, in fact, a camera that duplicates Lauren's retinal scan in order for him to take the required promethium from the reserve.[16]
Tobias Strikes[edit | hide]
After Jefferson was charged with embezzlement, Gambi and Jefferson stayed in The Sanctum and watched the Monovista security feed. They then discovered that the killer of the mayor was Red, a magnokinetic Metahuman employee of Tobias Whale.[17]
When the Energy Field Emitter was activated alongside the nullifier, all Metahumans in Freeland instantly lost their powers. Luckily, Gambi was able to rescue a free-falling Jennifer and a near-killed Jefferson by using contingency features in their suits. Gambi then got them out of their nanotechnology suits by using a testing device that mimics their electric current.[18]
With the promethium taken by Gambi and the emitter stolen by Tobias (with the help of Marshall Bates), Lauren confronted Gambi and found out the Go board's true purpose. Gambi was able to convince Lauren to put her gun down and talked to her about the reason he took the promethium and refused the claim that he took to emitter.[18]
