— Iris West-Allen to Eva McCulloch[src]
|
Iris Ann West-Allen (née West) is a renowned reporter and the owner of Central City Citizen. West is also the daughter of Joe and Francine West, the sister of Wally and Jenna West, the wife of Barry Allen and the mother of Nora West-Allen and Bart West-Allen.
West's father adopted Barry Allen in 2000, and they created a strong bond. Unbeknownst to West, Allen developed a crush on her and later revealed his identity as The Flash. West joined Allen's team and assisted his vigilantism. The two later fell in love and married to each other.
West-Allen soon started her own news media, Central City Citizen, and wrote articles on the unbelievable daily life of Central City.
Biography[edit | hide | hide all]
Early Life[edit | hide]
Iris West was born to Joe and Francine West in Central City.
After college freshmen year, West returned to her childhood home with her father and spent a fall together. They then started arguing over small things such as watching sports on Saturday while studying. She then realized it was due to her different habits after becoming an adult, which allowed the time with Joe to find a normal between them again.[24]
The Streak[edit | hide]
When a speedster began to defend Central City from rogue Metahumans, West approached the vigilante and named him "The Streak." Unbeknownst to West, the vigilante was, in fact, her childhood friend Barry Allen. The identity was later revealed and West proceeded to work with the vigilante as a member of Team Flash.[25]
In 2017, West married Allen and their wedding was interrupted by a group of time travelling Nazi clones.[26]
Crisis on Infinite Earths[edit | hide]
In January 2020, Iris's Earth-1 counterpart's memories were restored by J'onn J'onzz.
Reflections and Lies[edit | hide]
Black Hole[edit | hide]
In 2020, West-Allen started investigating Joseph Carver and his secret organization. After she discovered the secrets of the organization, Carver sent Doctor Light to assassinate the members of Team Citizen. Luckily, Cecile Horton sensed the attack and protected them. Later, she talked to Carver again to convince him not to sue the Citizen. Soon afterward, West was kidnapped into the Mirrorverse, and she was replaced by a Reflection copy.[27]
A day later, West-Allen met Eva McCulloch in the Mirrorverse, and they worked together to escape. However, she was unaware that McCulloch was merely using her as a method to escape. Weeks later, she discovered a hidden room behind the mirror of the building and realized McCulloch's true intentions. After West-Allen found out the truth, McCulloch tied her up and left the Mirrorverse. West-Allen soon found Kamilla Hwang at S.T.A.R. Labs in the Mirrorverse and tried to escape with her. Eventually, West-Allen disappeared in a refraction of light.[28]
Forced Escape[edit | hide]
After a series of attempts by McCulloch to break her mind, West-Allen was able to overcome the situation[29] and rendezvous with Hwang at Butler Plaza. They both then arrived at S.T.A.R. Labs and met David Singh. However, Singh and Hwang's side effects caused by the Mirror Gun came into effect. While trying to bring the both of them to the med lab, the Portal Machine opened and Allen arrived to bring her out. Despite West-Allen's refusal to return alone, she was eventually forcibly brought to Earth-Prime and immediately fell unconscious.[30]
