"Out of Time"[1] is the first episode of the second season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, and the seventeenth episode overall. It aired on October 13, 2016.

You know what they say, Captain must never abandon his ship. Well, neither shall I abandon hope of seeing you all again someday, somewhere in time. As flawed and unruly as you are individually, together you are the best crew, the best team a captain could ever hope for. So... stick together. And remember, history is yours now, my dear Legends. Good luck.

    Synopsis[edit | hide | hide all]

After the defeat of the immortal villain Vandal Savage and the exposure of the corrupt Time Masters, a new threat emerges. Dr. Nate Heywood, an unconventional and charming historian, is thrust into the action. After making a shocking discovery, Nate seeks out Oliver Queen for help in finding the scattered Legends. Once reunited, the Legends continue their new mission to protect the timeline from temporal aberrations – unusual changes to history that spawn potentially catastrophic consequences. Their first stop is 1942 to protect Albert Einstein from being kidnapped before the Nazis destroy New York City with a nuclear bomb. Meanwhile, Ray notices that Sara has a mission of her own, which leads them both to face her nemesis, Damien Darhk.[1]

    • The flashback segment of the episode takes place six months after Legendary.
    • This episode is the first to feature the library and the galley of the Waverider, as well as a redesigned brig.
    • This episode is the first to refer to the team as the "Legends of Tomorrow". In the previous season, the team was never given an official name and was merely considered as legends by Rip Hunter in Pilot, Part 1.

    Goofs[edit | hide]

    • When the Legends reunite, Dominic Purcell's tattoos on his left wrist can be seen. In the other episodes of the series and The Flash, burn marks and long sleeves were used to cover the tattoos from being visible.
