The only way to keep going is to take control of your life. Stop letting everybody act like they know what's best for you and make your own choices. Just because this is your present doesn't mean it has to be your future.
    — Ava Lance[src]

Co-Captain Ava Sharpe, originally branded as Bossy Ava,[2] is the twelfth of a series of AVA Corporation Advanced Variant Automation human clones from the early 23rd century created by the AVA Corporation.

With her awareness as a clone erased, Sharpe was recruited by Rip Hunter to serve as a high-ranking agent in the Time Bureau. Sharpe eventually rose to the rank of director after Hunter's demise, and soon joined the Legends of Tomorrow following the bureau's closure. Sharpe later developed a romantic relationship with Sara Lance and became the co-captain of the Waverider.

    Biography[edit | hide | hide all]

    Early Life[edit | hide]

Bossy Ava, originally intended as Boss Ava, was designed to "boss people around" by Bishop as an Advanced Variant Automation.[2]

Joining the Time Bureau[edit | hide]

At some point, Ava, now given the name of Ava Sharpe, was brought to 2017 by Rip Hunter as one of the most competent agents of the Time Bureau.[2][4]

Later, Sharpe met the Legends of Tomorrow and reluctantly worked with the team against Mallus. During the war, Hunter sacrificed himself to let the Legends escape, making Sharpe the director of the Time Bureau.[21]

Deputizing the Legends as operatives of the bureau, Sharpe began a relationship with Sara Lance and grew closer to the team. When the bureau was disbanded due to Neron's takeover, Sharpe lost her job and was forced to join the Legends.[4]

Crisis on Infinite Earths[edit | hide]

When a giant Beebo rampaged in Star City, Sharpe and Heywood received Sara Lance's message about the presence of Behrad Tarazi's totem. Both claimed that Tarazi was on board the Waverider and offered to assist Lance and the other heroes in battle. Lance ordered the two to stay in Washington, D.C. as she did not intend any more of the Legends from being tangled in the mess.[22]

Hours after the Anti-Monitor was shrunk to the Microverse, Sharpe and Heywood attended a moment of silence for the sacrifice of Oliver Queen.[22]
