What saved me from the darkness was remembering the words of a hero. "As long as we keep the loved ones we've lost in our hearts, there is always hope."
    — Allegra Garcia[src]

Allegra Garcia is the supervising editor of Central City Citizen Media and the cousin of the Black Hole assassin, Ultraviolet.

On the night of the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator explosion, Garcia gained exceptional abilities in prison and was released years later. Garcia was approached by Iris West-Allen and joined her newspaper publisher, Central City Citizen, as an intern and later promoted to staff writer.

Garcia soon realized the identity of The Flash to be West-Allen's husband and joined his team using the late Nash Wells' gadgets as well as using her own powers, later known as Accelerant.

    Biography

    Early Life

Allegra Garcia was born to an unnamed man. However, he left before she could walk and was abandoned.[16]

Allegra is a daughter of a criminal family. With the family influence, Allegra often committed theft and was sent to juvenile detention. When she was 13, she was arrested by Detective West and was later visited by him. However, she refused to talk to Joe.[6]

At some point before she acquired her powers, she met Emerson Fairweather and became a couple. Some time later, they broke up.[18]

    Particle Accelerator Explosion

Garcia was a car thief, which lead to her arrest and incarceration in the Iron Heights for five years. She later compared the experience to living in Hell.[19]

In December 2013, Allegra was caught in a fight against her cousin, Esperanza Garcia, after trying to leave her group in the juvie. However, both of them were hit by a Dark Matter wave caused by the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator explosion in Iron Heights. The two both acquired ultraviolet-based powers.[20]

    Meeting Cecile Horton

Allegra was arrested again due to a witness mistook Allegra for crimes committed by Esperanza, who was presumed deceased by the public. As Allegra knew the public would not believe Esperanza is alive, she confessed to the crimes. Later, Allegra met Cecile who was the district attorney and about to charge Allegra. However, Cecile's powers made her acknowledge Allegra's innocence and tried to help Allegra.[6]

After Allegra made bail, she escaped from her cuffs and looked for the witness who mistook her as Esperanza. However, the witness was already dead when she arrived, and she was encountered by Iris and Ralph. Allegra does not have any way to escape and blasted Ralph with her UV beams. As she ran out, he was apprehended by Joe with the BOOT. Cecile went to her and Allegra refused to tell her the truth and demanded a lawyer.[6]

During the interrogation, Allegra told Cecile the truth and Esperanza arrived as Ultraviolet who activated an EMP and disrupted Iris' emergency call to Cecile. Cecile later tried to protect Allegra but was nearly killed by Esperanza's UV beams. Luckily, The Flash arrived and defeated Esperanza.[6]

    Joining the Citizen

After the events in CCPD, Allegra went to the Central City Citizen and was hired by Iris as an intern.[6] They then investigated Black Hole and were attacked by Kimiyo Hoshi.[21]

    Valentine's Day 2020

A few weeks later, on Valentine's Day, Frost attempted to put Garcia and his ex-boyfriend, Emerson Fairweather together again. However, Emerson was flirting with Natalie and Garcia was frustrated. Despite the flirtation, Garcia returned and talked to Emerson, later became friends again.[18]

    Fighting Eva McCulloch

After two of her colleagues were kidnapped by Eva McCulloch, Garcia joined Team Flash and assisted their fight against Eva.[22]

After Team Flash realized Iris and Kamilla are stuck in the Mirrorverse, Garcia joined Team Flash to aid them during the fight against Black Hole and Eva McCulloch.[23]
