    Skirmish at the Burman Cul-De-Sac (Earth-2: Post-Crisis)

    You should've had a plan.
We did have a plan, Court. You just weren't involved.

The Skirmish at the Burman Cul-De-Sac was initially Yolanda Montez's attempt to return The Gambler's laptop to the Burman Residence, and later the conflict between the Justice Society of America and Cindy Burman.

    History[edit | hide | hide all]

    Background[edit | hide]

    Montez finds the laptop

Having her suspicions on Cindy Burman regarding her involvement in the assassination of The Gambler, Yolanda Montez snuck into the Burman Residence and discovered that Burman had, in fact, stole the laptop from The Gambler. However, unbeknownst to the Justice Society of America, Burman stole the laptop in hopes of finding a cure for her transformation into a lizard-like creature as her father did, and Montez left claw marks on the windows of the residence.[1]

The laptop was later given to Beth Chapel, who downloaded all the information to her goggles and allowed Montez to return the laptop unnoticed.[2]

    Stargirl breaks up the fight

As soon as Montez entered Burman's bedroom, Burman herself revealed that she had known Montez's previous infiltration and was confronted about her theft of the laptop. Burman attempted to explain, though Montez impulsively attacked her and soon knocked Burman out the window. The duel continued at the cul-de-sac, with Rick Tyler joining the conflict by throwing a van from a great distance, followed with his unsuccessful attack on Burman. The skirmish was then interrupted when Courtney Whitmore, who received Chapel's call about the conflict, landed with her Cosmic Staff creating a shockwave that knocked her teammates on the ground.[2]

    Aftermath[edit | hide]

Tyler, Chapel and Montez confront Whitmore

Trying to calm the conflict, Whitmore demanded answers from Burman and expressed her disappointment over her secrets. Burman did not appreciate her accusations, and insisted that they would not have listened even if she had told the truth. Whitmore repeatedly emphasized the importance of honesty, though Burman saw the irony in her accusations, and revealed her involvement with Cameron Mahkent. Tyler and Montez were enraged by Whitmore's lack of honesty, and Whitmore proposed that Sylvester Pemberton should lead the team instead.[2]
