The Cosmic Staff, nicknamed Cosmo by Courtney Whitmore,[1] is a weapon that used by Starman and Stargirl.

At some point, the Cosmic Staff was created by Ted Knight. The staff later fell into the hands of Sylvester Pemberton, who used the alias "Starman" and the staff as a member of the Justice Society of America.[2]
In 2020, Courtney Whitmore found the Cosmic Staff after Sylvester's death in a crate that Pat Dugan brought to Blue Valley. The staff later worked for her, and she started operating as Stargirl.[2]

Functions[edit source]
- Flight: The Cosmic Staff is able to fly and levitate midair.[2]
- Forcefield Generation: When Whitmore held the Cosmic Staff against Brainwave's forehead, the staff generated a forcefield and lifted light objects upwards, eventually imploding and putting King in a coma.[3]
- Stellarkinesis: Using the staff, Courtney can create and manipulate stellar energy to use against her opponents.[2]
- Photokinesis: The Cosmic Staff is able to generate a strong energy blast to temporarily blind and distract people.[4]
