Dark Riders Attack[edit | hide]
At some point, Joe Kline became began hosting a news show for WCCN. In 1990, Kline invited Arthur Cooper onto his show to interview him about the Dark Riders. During the interview, he expressed concerns about the new police squad tasked with taking them down.[1]
Fires in Central City[edit | hide]
During the period where numerous fires were breaking out across Central City, Kline interviewed Arthur Simonson about his recent acquittal. During the interview, Kline confronted him about the illegal casino's he ran across the country, prompting Simonson to threaten that Kline would one day lose his voice.[4]
Day of the Dead Festival[edit | hide]
In November 1990, Kline reported on the upcoming testimony of DEA bureau chief Peter Paul Aguilar, in which he was set to accuse Reuben Calderon of being a drug lord. After a delay in the trial, Kline interviewed federal prosecutor Marguerite Giarelo, asking her whether the delay was due to Calderon was one of Aguilar's relatives hostage. However, Giarelo refused to comment, and the interview was subsequently cut after it was interrupted by a gust of wind.[5]
