    Gideon (Earth-1: Pre-Crisis)/Rogue Waverider

For other uses of Gideon, see Gideon (Disambiguation).

The timeline cannot be ruled by emotions. It must be protected by clearheaded logic.
    — Gideon[src]

Gideon, nicknamed Evil Gideon and Computer Gideon by the Legends, was the replication of the A.I. system of the original Waverider, Gideon. After being restored to factory settings by Bishop, Gideon was focused on protecting the integrity of the timeline no matter the cost, hunting her former teammates with her own version of the Legends of Tomorrow.

    Biography[edit | hide | hide all]

    Point of Divergence[edit | hide]

When Bishop was brought from 2212 to 1925 in order to prevent his future self's Zaguron invasion, he was fascinated by the advanced technology of the Waverider and replicated Gideon into a hard drive, which he hid in his lab coat. However, his memories were erased by Nate Heywood and Ava Sharpe using the Memory Flasher.[5]

The replicated Gideon then remained in the drive for nearly a year before Bishop completely regained his memories. Gideon refused to work for Bishop and was eventually rebooted to factory settings after he was unable to crack her code.[5]

    New Captain[edit | hide]

With her memories now erased, Gideon aimed to follow her original program to preserve the timeline under the Time Masters' orders. Gideon then provided blueprints to the Waverider to Bishop and successfully recreated the vessel with AVA technology. Like her original place, Gideon was reinstalled in the console in the bridge.[6]

Despite her original warning of Bishop's intent to eliminate the Legends, he ignored and destroyed the original Waverider, stranding the Legends in 1925. Unfortunately, they caused multiple aberrations in time, including the death of J. Edgar Hoover. Gideon soon utilized her knowledge on futuristic technology and AVA's clone technology, creating the first Hoover-Bot to preserve the timeline.[6]

Afterward, Gideon began to realize Assistant Ava hindering the mission to protect the timeline. She then ejected Ava out to the Temporal Zone and injected Bishop with poison, slowing down his response. She also took the liberty to create a third Hoover-Bot and the first Edison-Bot while replacing Bishop's place in the timeline with a robot. Realizing he had made a mistake, Bishop escaped through the bathroom and was sent to an unknown time period through Gwyn Davies' time machine.[6]
