Early Life[edit | hide]
Gaining Powers[edit | hide]
Decades ago, King was a neurosurgeon and started to develop ways to improve the human brain. However, the hospital he worked in refused to fund him, and he started experimenting on himself. Eventually, he gained multiple brain related powers and stopped a mugger by accidentally killing him. After his first time using the powers, he started to hear different people's thoughts and realized that they are all "monsters". King later used his powers to kill those "monsters" one by one.[4]
Later, King fell in love with a woman and had a son who also gained the same powers as King by heritage.[4]
At some point before or after Henry Jr.'s birth, King joined the Injustice Society of America and donned the name, Brainwave.[1]
Final Battle[edit | hide]
Ten years ago, he joined the rest of the ISA and fought the JSA, specifically Starman in an abandoned church, successfully distracting him long enough for Icicle to fire an icicle at him, a blow that would lead to his death.[1]
New Starman[edit | hide]
In the present day, he is a respected neurosurgeon at Blue Valley Medical Center. However, this is just an act to cover for his activities as Brainwave.[5]
After Courtney Whitmore attacked his son with the Cosmic Staff he thought that a new Starman had appeared to take down the ISA and went to confront her. Despite his best efforts though, Courtney was able to cause an explosion and escape before she could be defeated.[1]
Later that night, Pat Dugan used an armor to take on Brainwave which failed until Courtney Whitmore, now Stargirl, fought him back. Later, Courtney fought Brainwave and took the advantage to shoot, but she missed. Brainwave saw the chance and forced Courtney to lay down. Pat was worried and turn a flashlight at Brainwave which gave Courtney enough time to use the Cosmic Staff to our King in a coma.[3]
Awaken[edit | hide]
A few weeks later, Henry Jr. started to manifest his powers and communicate with King with it. Henry Jr. visited Sr. and killed their family attorney who wanted to gain King's money from insurance. As the attorney dies, King wakes up and asked what happened.[4]
