In hopes of creating an Artificial Speed Force, a machine was made to activate the new extradimensional energy source and was used as a conduit to restore speedsters' abilities.

After the death of the Speed Force, Cisco and Barry built a machine trying to recreate the Speed Force. However, it failed after seemingly working for a brief minute.[1] The Fusion Sphere was then used to regenerate the original Speed Force.
