    Wildcat Suit (Earth-2: Post-Crisis)

Being Wildcat is the only good thing that's happened to me in forever. I'm not giving you back the suit.

The Wildcat Suit is a protective suit used by the late Ted Grant and later Yolanda Montez as the vigilante, Wildcat.

    History[edit source]

    Golden Age[edit source]

    The first Wildcat

When Ted Grant became the vigilante known as Wildcat, he began wearing a protective suit to enhance his physiology and conceal his identity. The suit was used until his demise in the Battle of Los Angeles, with Pat Dugan retrieving the suit and placing it on display at the JSA headquarters for years.[1][2]

    A New Generation[edit source]

Ten years later, while Courtney Whitmore was brought to witness the legacy of the Justice Society of America, she stole multiple gadgets and suits from the building, including the Wildcat Suit, Hourman Suit, Doctor Mid-Nite Suit, Starheart Lantern, and the Thunderbolt.[2]

    Montez becomes Wildcat

Using the stolen gadgets, Whitmore attempted to reform the Justice Society, soon deciding upon Yolanda Montez to succeed Grant as the new Wildcat. As Montez wore the suit, she claimed that it stank and did not fit her. However, the suit soon altered its appearance and size to fit her, much to her surprise.[3]

    Guilt[edit source]

    Montez returns as Wildcat

Soon after killing Brainwave while foiling the Injustice Society's project, Montez's guilt pushed her to slowly abandon her role as a vigilante and ultimately retired from vigilantism under the influence of Eclipso.[4] Montez stepped up as Wildcat when she later realized Whitmore sought the assistance of Cindy Burman, and worked with her enemy against Eclipso.[5]

    Overview[edit source]

    Designs[edit source]

The suit consists of a blue mask that resembles the appearance of a cat. The suit also consist of a boxing wraps as Ted Grant was a boxer before becoming a vigilante.[1][2] However, the wraps were discarded when Yolanda Montez took over the mantle as Wildcat, with the gloves being revealed to contain retractable claws that could cut through a variety of metal.[3]

    Functions[edit source]

    • Enhanced Agility: With the help of the suit, its users can jump from a high point and land on her legs. The users are also able to do a flip easily with the suit.[3]
    • Identity Concealment: The blue mask of the suit conceals its users' identity.[1]
    • Retractable Claws: The suit can generate claws from the tip of the fingers that can break through almost anything. It is capable on penetrating a toaster and bricks on a wall.[3]
    • Size/Appearance Alteration: The suit can alter its appearance and size to fit different users.[3]
