For other uses of Green Lantern, see Green Lantern (Disambiguation).

Well, just according to what I know, Alan had to recharge the ring once a day using the lantern, but, you know, maybe I'm remembering wrong.

Starheart Lantern is a lantern-like powerful energy source that recharges Power Rings.

    History[edit | hide | hide all]

    Golden Age[edit | hide]

Scott fights with the Power Battery

After Alan Scott acquired the Starheart Lantern, he became the Green Lantern. The Power Battery was used until his demise in the Battle of Los Angeles, with Pat Dugan retrieving the battery and placing it on display at the JSA headquarters for years.[1][2]

    A New Generation[edit | hide]

Ten years later, while Courtney Whitmore was brought to witness the legacy of the Justice Society of America, she stole multiple gadgets and suits from the building, including the Power Battery, Wildcat Suit, Hourman Suit, Doctor Mid-Nite Suit, and the Thunderbolt.[2]

    Hayden acquires the Power Battery

In summer 2021, Jennie-Lynn Hayden, Scott's daughter, was given the Power Ring and was attracted to the battery's location in Blue Valley. She then battled Whitmore and eventually revealed her identity. Later, the new Justice Society discovered that Hayden has the power and energy of the battery in her body, allowing her to recharge the ring without using the battery.[3]

    Functions[edit | hide]

    • Energy Recharge: The Starheart Power Ring required an extensive amount of energy to create energy constructs. In order to power it, the rings are required to recharge using the battery at least once a day.[3]
    • Empathy: The Power Battery is connected to the emotions of its users, as shown when the battery glowed while Jennie was furious.[3]
