Nanaue, better known as King Shark, is a descendant of an ancient Shark God and a member of Task Force X.

Early Life[edit | hide]

Nanaue was born as a descendant of an ancient shark god. Possessing extraordinary powers and abilities, Nanaue turned to the life of crime and was soon incarcerated in Belle Reve Correctional Center.^[1]

Recruitment[edit | hide]

In 2021, Amanda Waller recruited Nanaue to Task Force X and told him to meet the team, consisting of Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Polka-Dot Man and Ratcatcher 2. The team was then sent to Corto Maltese in order to destroy all traces of something only known as Project Starfish and camped in the forest.^[1]

Later at night, Nanaue attempted to eat Cazo and was shot by DuBois. Cazo refused to believe that as Nanaue has "kind eyes". However, he stared at Sebastian, Cazo's pet rat, and claimed to be hungry. She then summoned a group of rats and attacked Nanaue, only to realize that he would not eat people if they are his friends, which he did not have. Out of compassion, Cazo chose to be his friend as Nanaue promised not to eat them.^[1]

The Search[edit | hide]

In the next morning, the team packed their equipments and went to a camp where Rick Flag was supposedly held in after being capture. With Smith and DuBois murdering all of the residents, the team immediately opened a blind and found Flag having tea with Sol Soria. Soria was forced to forgive them as they were her only allies and worked alongside the task force in search of Gaius Grieves.^[1]

The group walked across the mountains to the town and briefly stopped as Cazo got tired and Krill started glowing with polka-dots. They then arrived at an army facility where they met Milton, a driver for the Freedom Fighters. Nanaue was eager to join the group on undercover operations but was told that his appearance would not be useful. He proposed to wear a fake mustache and was later mocked by DuBois. Eventually, he agreed to sit in the minibus until the mission is over.^[1] However, he left the minibus and went to play toy cars with children nearby.^[2]

Operation Harley[edit | hide]

Now knowing the survival of Harley Quinn, Flag led the team to the city and attempted to break her out. Nanaue reported that there was a bird in his area, only to be scolded by Flag to stay off the comm. Quinn soon appeared next to them, revealing that she had escaped by herself without assistance. The team then resumed their objective to infiltrate Jotunheim.^[1]

Operation Jotunheim[edit | hide]

The team soon prepared themselves, with Grieves driving to Jotunheim and infiltrating the building. The team then stormed the building in the rain and was able to enter the lobby.^[1]

Under the commands of Flag and DuBois, Nanaue and Smith planted explosives on the walls of Jotunheim. During the process, Nanaue made a figure of Smith using the plastic explosive. Despite appreciating his effort, Smith told him to place it on the wall. Nanaue then turned around, only to find Smith missing. The team then started walking to upper levels as Nanaue entered a room full of Clyrax. He observed the creatures and claimed to have found "new dumb friends".^[1]

As the battles above got chaotic, the chain of explosives were accidentally set off and the creatures were able to break out of the glass tank. Unfortunately, the creatures were carnivorous and started feasting on Nanaue. Despite the team's assistance, he was flooded out of the building and fell to the ground. Nanaue survived the fall and was encountered by the army, which he fought against and ate the head of one of the soldiers. He then returned to the lobby and found his team discussing their next moves, interrupted by Starro's escape.^[1]

The team ran as fast as they could and warned the army. Following the suggestion of Cazo, the team covered their faces and protected themselves from Starro's extensions. As the extensions were sent, the team encountered a group of infected individuals and was told not to interfere by Waller. DuBois slowly walked away, only to be forced back by his compassion.^[1]

Waller back in Belle Reve was then knocked unconscious by Flo Crawley. The team followed Emilia Harcourt and John Economos' orders to evade Starro, fighting the injected individuals with their respective abilities. DuBois ordered Nanaue to bite the enemy and was wrapped with Starro's tentacles, who sent him flying across a building.^[1]

Going Home[edit | hide]

After the battle concluded, DuBois told Waller to leave them alone in exchange for not releasing the hard disk to the public. Waller was forced to comply and sent Briscoe to pick the squad up. On the ride, Cazo held a piece of Krill's suit and mourned his teammate. She then slowly fell asleep on Nanaue's shoulders after a series of tiring fighting.^[1]

Shark Physiology: As a descendant of an ancient shark god, Nanaue possesses abilities similar to a shark and also an appearance that resembles a human being.^[1]
- Superhuman Strength: Nanaue possesses superhuman strength that is capable of tearing a human apart and lift them up easily.^[1]
- Superhuman Durability: Nanaue was shown to be durable against bullets and showed no visible injuries after falling multiple stories.^[1]
- Superhuman Stamina: Nanaue is able to keep on fighting after hours of tiring activities.^[1]
- Regenerative Healing Factor: Nanaue is capable of healing his injuries in a short period of time due to his advanced metabolism.^[1]
- Amphibious: Nanaue is an amphibious Metahuman, allowing him to have both gills and feet, capable of surviving underwater and in air.^[1]
- Fangs: Similar to a shark, Nanaue has sharp teeth which are able to tear human flesh apart easily.^[1]
- Claws: The tip of Nanaue's hands consists of sharp claws that could pierce into human skin.^[1]

Hand-to-Hand Combat: Nanaue was shown to be a skilled fighter against soldiers. However, he often fights with his hands as he developed a taste for human meat, causing him to eat his enemies before they could react.^[1]
