“ | So this is the famous Suicide Squad. Well, we consider that term degrading. The official term is "Task Force X". And love 'em or hate 'em, these are your brothers and sisters for the next few days. |

Task Force X, nicknamed the Suicide Squad by Floyd Lawton,[2] is a government black-ops unit founded and led by Amanda Waller of A.R.G.U.S. that enlists incarcerated and expandable criminals with special skills or powers to undertake high-risks missions.

Foundation[edit | hide]
Following Superman's death during his conflict with Doomsday, Director Amanda Waller of A.R.G.U.S. became concerned over rogue Metahuman activities and the government's inability to counteract said threats. Waller then proposed to assemble a task force of expandable yet effective criminals currently in custody, allowing them to complete missions in exchange for commuted prison sentences. In order to convince the government, Dr. June Moone was brought to a government meeting and transformed into the Enchantress, using her abilities to acquire Iranian nuclear plans. The task force was then sanctioned under the name "Task Force X" with Rick Flag assigned as the field leader.[2][3]
Recruitment[edit | hide]
Soon afterwards, Floyd Lawton, Harley Quinn, Waylon Jones and Chato Santana were recruited by Flag and Waller, who injected Nano-Bombs into the base of their skull as a precaution. The team was also later expanded when Digger Harkness and Christopher Weiss joined against Enchantress' invasion.[2]
