Michael P. "Mike" Dugan[8] is the son of Pat Dugan, the step-son of Barbara Whitmore, and the step-brother of Courtney Whitmore. Dugan was the last of his family to realize his father's vigilantism actions as Stripesy and S.T.R.I.P.E., while urging his parents to include him in the Justice Society of America. Eventually, Dugan's loneliness allowed the Thunderbolt to bond with him, giving him unimaginable power and finally the ability to join the team as Mikey Thunder. However, his recklessness and impulsiveness led to the Thunderbolt's disappearance. Once again powerless, Dugan approached Zeek and attempted to be useful to the team, with Pat eventually starting the project of repairing S.T.R.I.P.E. with him. Dugan also briefly stood in as S.T.R.I.P.E. and fought against Eclipso, with Pat allowing limited use of the armor afterwards under his supervision.
