At some point, Carter was assigned to guard the Fixed Point of the death of Alun Thomas in the Capture of Mametz.[1]

    Meeting the Legends[edit | hide]

Despite guarding a Fixed Point, Carter never encountered any Time Travelers until Gwyn Davies arrived with an android version of Alun Thomas. Carter then altered a bullet trajectory such that it hits Davies, killing him in the trenches of Mametz Wood.[1]

As a new time loop began, Carter discovered the Legends wrote a message on their hands, wanting to talk to him. He soon decided to listen to their proposal and was told that his job as a fixer was aimless, as no sane Time Travelers would travel to the event that led to the creation of Time Travel itself. Carter followed the Legends to see the Waverider landing, though changing his mind and hijacked the Timeship while destroying Davies' time machine.[1]

    Carter tricks the Legends

Carter then travelled to Star City in 2315, Heyworld in 2019, Salvation in 1874 and London in 1977, where he reunited with his friend, Charlie. Unfortunately, the Time Police were able to locate him almost instantly, forcing him to trick the Legends into a trap in exchange for the survival of his A.I., Skeets. Carter unwillingly went along with the plan and returned to pick up the Legends, much to their surprise. He then revealed his handcuffs and alerted the officers to reveal themselves, arresting the Legends after being tackled on the ground.[1][2]
