Martha Kent was the adoptive mother of Clark Kent and the wife of the late Jonathan Kent Sr.

Clark's Arrival[edit | hide]
In the 1980s, Martha and Jonathan Kent witnessed an unknown object crashing onto their farm. As the object opened, a baby child emerged from the pod and Martha and Jonathan took care of him, adopting him as their son known as Clark Kent.[1]
Over the years, Martha and Jonathan took care of Clark while helping him adapt to extraordinary powers.[1] Martha and Jonathan both believed Clark was sent to Earth for a reason.[2]
During the Harvest Fest, Jonathan died of a heart attack and Martha organized a funeral. Clark was emotional during the ceremony and ran off.[1]
Knowing the Truth[edit | hide]
A year later, Clark argued with Martha about his purpose on Earth, with Martha later giving him a Sunstone Crystal she found in the pod. Clark then travelled to the Arctic and found a fortress with his biological father's A.I. Clark soon returned to Smallville and informed Martha about his heritage, with Martha gifting him a suit after having a dream of him flying as a hero.[3]
