Jor-El was a respected scientist on Krypton and the father of Kal-El, later known as Superman.
Biography[edit | hide | hide all]
Destruction of Krypton[edit | hide]
At some point, Jor-El was aware of the slow destruction of Krypton and warned the residents. However, they did not listen and led to the planet's dismay. During the destruction, Jor-El sent his son, Kal-El, to Earth through an escape pod.[1]
A.I.[edit | hide]
Prior to Krypton's destruction, Jor-El uploaded his consciousness into a Sunstone Crystal and placed it in the pod, allowing a grown up Kal-El to find and learn about his heritage.[3]
Later, Kal-El found the Fortress of Solitude and talked to his father's A.I. consciousness. Kal-El soon returned regularly to seek wisdom as the vigilante, Superman.
Grandson[edit | hide]
In 2020, Jor-El was once approached by Kal-El after realizing Jordan Kent's powers emerged. However, Jor-El informed Kal that the powers might be a special event and would not happen again due to his scan of Jordan's body revealing his Human genetics inhibited his power of absorbing solar energy.[1]
When Jordan's super hearing started emerging, Kal took him to the Fortress of Solitude and Jor-El inspected his body, telling Kal that Jordan needed to be trained like he himself did.[4][5] Days later, Kal brought Jordan to the Fortress after both of them were infected with a Synthetic Kryptonite Gas. Jor-El informed him that he needed to use immense heat to burn the Kryptonite out of Jordan's respiratory system before his lungs completely freezes.[6]

- Kryptonian Skinsuit: Prior to his death, Jor-El wore a skinsuit with the emblem of the House of El on the chest.[1]
- Sunstone Crystal: Jor-El placed a Sunstone Crystal into Kal-El's pod and allowed him to understand his own heritage.[3]
