In 2009, a college student approached a young Cat Grant and talked to her about how she could influence countless women. She also convinced Grant to quit the Daily Planet's gossip section, and she proceeded to do so, which allowed her to start her own news media conglomerate, CatCo with a pink cougar as the logo at the time.[1]

In 2018, Lena Luthor bought CatCo and led the company to success. In late 2019, the company was sold to Obsidian North under the leadership of Andrea Rojas and continued to strive for success.[2]
