Barry Allen was a corrupt forensic scientist and a colleague of Eddie Thawne.

Central City Police Department[edit | hide]
At some point, Barry Allen became a forensic scientist at the Central City Police Department. In 2014, Allen and Detective Eddie Thawne were about to destroy some evidence in his laboratory when the particle accelerator exploded, and they were struck by lightning. This resulted in Allen dying and Thawne gaining superhuman powers.[1]
