Biography
Early Life
At some point, Malcolm Merlyn had a son named Tommy, and later had a daughter in his affair with Moira Queen, named Thea.[1]
Queen's Gambit
In 2007, as a part of his Undertaking, Merlyn sabotaged Robert Queen's yacht, the Queen's Gambit. The Gambit sank in the North China Sea, with Oliver Queen being one of the few survivors of the incident.[1][2]
Emerald Archer
Five years later, Merlyn's Undertaking entered its final phases. However, his plans were discovered and foiled by the actions of Oliver Queen, who returned to Star City as the vigilante known as the Arrow.[1][2]
Quest for the Spear of Destiny
Years after his defeat, Merlyn was recruited by Eobard Thawne to assist in his quest to obtain the mystical Spear of Destiny, a Biblical artifact that could rewrite reality. Together with Thawne, Damien Darhk, Leonard Snart and Mick Rory, the Legion of Doom was formed, briefly creating the alternate reality known as Doomworld. Unfortunately, the reality did not last long, with Rory betraying the team for the Legends and Merlyn was placed back to his original place in time.[3]
