History
Origin
During an experiment on Gertrude Vanderworth's train set in her mansion with a Kryptonian crystal, trying to grow land, Lex Luthor triggered the blackout.
Occurrence
The first grid to be hit was the mansion, located at 6 Springwood Drive. The uptown grid went dark at 12:36 and midtown 10 seconds before. It caused the near-crash of Boeing 777 until it was rescued by Superman.
Aftermath
Interested in the blackout, Lois Lane investigated it which led her to the mansion. She ended up getting abducted by Lex in his boat The Gertrude along with Jason White, whom she had brought to the residence.
