Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a 2016 film based on the DC Comics characters, Batman and Superman, and the second film in the DC Extended Universe. It premiered on March 19, 2016, in Auditorio Nacional and on March 25, 2016, in the United States.
The film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Gal Gadot, and is directed Zack Snyder with Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer as writers. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is also a follow-up to Man of Steel (Film) and Justice League, the follow-up to the film, premiered in November 2017 while the director's cut released on March 18, 2021, on HBO Max.
Synopsis
It's been nearly three years since Superman's colossal battle with Zod devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne. Convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the conniving Lex Luthor launches his own crusade against the Man of Steel.
