The Synaptic Amplifier is a brainwashing machine created by Shiro Ito to use Brainwave's powers in order to succeed Project: New America.

In 2020, the newly formed Justice Society of America found out the ISA's plan to acquire a satellite's codes as a part of the machine. They later fought the two members of the team, Sportsmaster and Tigress. Despite their defeat, the Gambler was successful in hacking into the database of Empire Enterprises and acquired the codes.[1]
In November, the project was activated, and the machine was activated as well to amplify Brainwave's powers and controlled those people who are 22 years old or above (fully developed brains).[2]

The machine consists of 4 satellites that connects to a dome-shaped room with a chair. When Brainwave sits on the chair with a pair of connectors, the lightning caused by a canon strikes and amplifies Brainwave's powers to reach at least half of the country.[2]
