- Magic: As a Homo Magi, Shazam possesses the ability to wield complicated and powerful magic.[1]
- Curses: Shazam cursed Teth-Adam to his "tomb" in Kahndaq for 5,000 years.[1][3]
- Illusion Manipulation: To explain his past with great details, Shazam cast a holographic illusion of Teth-Adam's incident.[1]
- Longevity: Shazam has retained the same appearance for thousands of years. He is also able to achieve complex physical tasks even at an old age, though his body later aged slowly during his imprisonment by the Daughters of Atlas.[2]
- Astral Projection: Shazam sent a message to Billy Batson in the latter's dreams.[2] During his false death, he was also capable of casting a spirit of himself to assist the Shazam Family in their conflict with the Croc-People.[4]
- Powers via the Staff of the Gods: Shazam wields the Staff of the Gods, which holds the power of the Olympians.[1]

- Wisdom of Solomon/Genius-level intellect: Shazam possessed exceptional intelligence that allowed him to carefully choose a worthy champion after him.[1]
- Strength of Hercules/Superhuman Strength: Shazam had the ability to exert great strength from his body.[1][3]
- Stamina of Atlas/Superhuman Stamina: Shazam was able to endure the body stress created after battling his opponents despite his old age.[1]
- Power of Zeus: Shazam had the ability to manipulate Zeus' various powers.[1]
- Electrokinesis: Shazam could give out a strong blast of electricity out of his hands and fingers.[3]
