    Billy Batson (Earth-1: Post-Crisis)

For other uses of Shazam, see Shazam (Disambiguation).

If a superhero can't save his family, he's not much of a hero.
    — Billy Batson to Freddy Freeman[src]

William Joseph "Billy" Batson is a foster child chosen by the wizard Shazam to be his champion, who bestowed him a series of powerful mystical abilities including the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury. Batson is also the abandoned son of C.C. and Marilyn Batson.

Soon after he transformed into Shazam, Batson returned to reveal his transformation to Freddy Freeman and continued to explore the scopes of his powers with videos of himself online. He soon attracted the attention of Thaddeus Sivana and battled him with his foster family sharing the powers of Shazam.
