Kryptonians are peaceful people. At least the majority of us.
    — Lara Van-El[src]

Kryptonians are a species that were native to Krypton before its destruction.

    History

When I was younger, my home planet was dying. Saving it was hopeless. My father sent me to Earth to take care of my baby cousin who went before me...and I thought we were the only two survivors and that everyone else from our planet was dead.

    Destruction of Krypton

At some point of Krypton's history, the planet's natural resources started to exhaust and the people later discovered the planet's destruction coming. They then started a war which aggravated the ruin and resulted in its explosion.[1] During the destruction, Kal-El and Kara Zor-El were sent to Earth and was known as the "Last Son" and "Last Daughter" of Krypton. However, it was not true and Kara's parents both survived the accident along with a small fraction of Kryptonian with Alura surviving on Argo City and Zor-El surviving in the Phantom Zone.[2]
