Detective Edward Thawne was a police detective of the Central City Police Department and the ancestor of Eobard Thawne, better known as the Reverse-Flash.

Nine months later, Thawne began working with The Flash with Joe West. However, he was forced to commit suicide when he realized the villainous Reverse-Flash was his descendant.[1]
