Brian Durlin was the criminal and a member of Task Force X known as Savant.

Biography

Early Life

At some point, Brian Durlin became a criminal and was incarcerated in Belle Reve Correctional Center by Black Canary. His crimes include: vigilantism, kidnapping, extortion, destruction of property, attempted homicide and possession of illegal weapon.

The Suicide Squad

Over the course of his imprisonment, Durlin joined the Task Force X after being recruited by Amanda Waller.

In 2020, Durlin was imprisoned in an outdoor prison cell where he accurately targeted a ball to bounce back to him. He then used the same skill against a bird and killed it before Waller opened the cell door to recruit him. Waller briefed him of the mission and injected a nano-bomb into the base of his skull. Rick Flag soon greeted him and brought to the team.

Upon landing on the shores of Corto Maltese, Durlin rescued a supposedly drowned Weasel, who he proclaimed dead moments after swimming to the island. However, Blackguard exposed their hiding location and started a battle between the team and the army. Witnessing the deaths of his members, Durlin attempted to escape and swam away. Waller warned him of his consequences, which he did not listen and the nano-bomb was detonated, exploding his head and killing him.

• Marksmanship: Durlin is proficient in using a pistol as his standard firearm.
• Genius-level Intellect: Durlin was able to accurately predict the angles of incidence of his ball, which was able to bounce back to him after multiple hits on the prison cell wall.
• Hand-to-Hand Combat: According to Emilia Harcourt, Durlin is an expert in hand-to-hand combat.
