    Welcome[edit | hide | hide all]

Hello, I noticed you've started editing the wiki to correct some template uses and just wanted to welcome you since you're the first new non-IP editor we've had for a while. Are you just passing by, or are you aiming to be a regular editor? Either way, but especially if you're aiming to be a regular, I recommend joining the Discord server as it's where we have most of our conversations about the wiki. Reply: Welcome[edit | hide]

Hello, and thank you for the welcome. I've visited the site a few times and figured I might want to start looking into it more. I'm not sure yet about how active I'll be, but I will definitely join the discord if I decide to stick around.

Alright, well, I obviously hope you stick around considering we could do with more editors, but I get it if you don't. The link to join the Discord server is on the sidebar as a widget if you didn't see it. Have fun editing! TheDemon08 (talk) 01:18, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

    Zoom[edit | hide]

When Zolomon saw Thawne, he had said "You're Harry Wells, You helped the Flash defeat me" if it was the Earth-Prime one, he wouldn't know who Harry is, There is even a flashback of Zoom trying to kill the multiverse, That never happened post-crisis because there wasn't a multiverse, Our wiki even confirms Zolomon wasn't Zoom on Earth-Prime. -IH

Hey there IH. I’m not sure what you mean by the wiki confirming that Zolomon was never Zoom on Earth-Prime. If you check the whiteboard that appeared in Marathon, you’ll see that Cisco writes on it that Zoom came from the Singularity in the New Multiverse. As for his reference to Harry, that can easily be explained as the timeline needing each version of Wells to exist and so recreating them, like how Nash was recreated Post-Crisis.

On another note, are you IHHeroes from the Arrowverse Wiki? If so, I’d like it if we could talk over Discord. There’s a link to the server on the sidebar, or if you’d like to message me privately my username is TheDemon08#2203. TheDemon08Talk 16:39, 26 May 2023 (UTC)

    I think we should merge Thawne's pages[edit | hide]

Because the Negative Speed Force wasn't even affected by Crisis, his body is from the Negative Speed Force, his home universe still remains Earth-1.

    Broken website domains[edit | hide]

A short while ago (in the previous months, Sept. to Oct. '23), the wiki (previously hosted at http://dcmultiversewiki.com ) was down while moving its domain to http://dcmultiverse.wikiforge.net . However, when editing recently, the domain http://dcmultiversewiki.com is now live again, where the edits initially seem to synchronize with http://dcmultiverse.wikiforge.net (as for page moves), but it may be a sign that one of these websites will move and possibly close down the other. Is it known which website will be preferred? Otherwise the wiki may break (at least on my client end) for months, as was done with http://dcmultiverse.dcwikis.com moving to http://dcmultiversewiki.com (and all Miraheze-hosted images moving to WikiForge. The URLs otherwise remain much the same besides the name change at the top domain.) Daxamite (talk) 10:13/21, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

Yes, for a while the site was down, and it was for some reason more stable not using our custom domain url for whatever reason, which is why we switched back to the wikiforge default. However, now that it's stable again, we've decided to go back to our custom one. I realize that some edits were lost due to the change (I myself had to recreate a few pages I had done just before the site crashed) but everything has mostly transferred. As you may have noticed, I'm currently going through and moderating the edits you made that have yet to be approved. Sorry about the delay. NickNickleby (talk) 22:56, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
The image links seem to have changed from http://static.wikiforge.net to http://static.your.wf . However, the image links do not seem to work on any of my computers, no matter where I travel around the world, or even within Sydney, NSW, Australia. This means that I cannot see the images, at least on current network visibility. Also, some of my edit summaries don't seem to be going through (ignore the ones with far more suitable alternatives), even if I check an edit, and it was an automated script that performs manually tedious tasks. For example, I still cannot see File:Mon-El (Earth-38) 002.png (where I at least want to save it: an option is to restore it for just 24hr, and then delete it again.
As I have posted on my own user page, I also work at the Arrowverse wiki, where I usually source much higher-quality images here to import there. Such is the case with File:Central City (Earth-90) 001.png, which is still waiting for an upload, as well as File:Central City Savings & Loan (Earth-Prime) 001.png, which I am still awaiting a move, to free up another file name.) Also, the File:Cold Gun (Earth-1) (Pre-Crisis) 001.png was deleted before I saw it, but I found an equivalent file with dimensions 735x462. What were the file's dimensions here, and if larger than 735x462, can it be temporarily restored? The same might apply to File:City Center, National City (Earth-38) 001.png: what did it look like, before it was deleted in preference of File:City Center, National City (Earth-38) 001.png?
It was a bus with the words "City Center" label on the top as its destination. Very similar to File:National City Transit (Earth-Prime) 001.png. NickNickleby (talk) 01:55, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
I advise a 24hr waiting period (for any potential files to be restored) in case our times of activity do not line up as usual. For me, anywhere from UTC 10/11PM to UTC 5/6AM works if I am active then. What are your main activity times? You can answer in UTC or UTC-4/5, for your local time zone. I am usually at UTC+10/11 respectively/oppositely.) As currently: Daxamite (talk) 22:18, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
Current as of 17 Nov. '23: Today unexpectedly (approximately 11PM, your local time) the website crashed and returned a bad gateway/404 error for both domains. This may have resulted in a net loss of pending edits, as has happened previously before. Is it possible to recover any of them, as well as the deleted files mentioned above? I tend to notice that edits drop off after ~6AM UTC, but that is likely because you are sleeping, and it is also approaching night for me. I will attempt to communicate with you on Discord if the site does not work again. Daxamite (talk) 10:20, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
There is now a problem with the notice board, where I now cannot remove merges that are seemingly 'done': if there is a red link first, the line should be removed. Also, I have attempted to move some other pages, but others appear to have been prioritized first (however, they are still on the list - I will attempt/see to resolve this issue in a few hours). Daxamite (talk) 22:18, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
Earlier today our lead admin put that page under protection for only admins to edit. I don't know his reasoning for doing so, but I'm not going to do anything to contradict him. As for removing finished edits, I prefer waiting until I have a bunch done before I remove them, makes for less editing of the page, and I find it more satisfying to remove a lot at once. I'm approving your edits in moderation, but renaming is a lot more involved. They'll be out as soon as I can make the needed corresponding edits. NickNickleby (talk) 22:52, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
It can quickly become a problem when we attempt to edit at the same time immediately after a merge: but check the list to continue more page moves. Also, how do you add in appearances for original multiverse's versions of objects? Are they part of a pre-prepared list for 1/38/UE-20's version of the page, or are they selected/filtered from the overall season? Daxamite (talk) 02:02, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
The Arrowverse wiki is useful for a lot of those lists, since when something appears is simple fact. And I always have to reorganize the appearances anyway because their lists are separated by show and ours are chronological. But if it's for something they don't have a page for, like the Particle Accelerator Explosion, which I just worked on, for example, I can go by what pages it links to, figure out which ones are pre-crisis episodes, and then sort them chronologically. It's incomplete, but as we review more episodes and fill out more pages, we can come back and edit the page. NickNickleby (talk) 03:11, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
The problem for organizing appearances is mainly deciding: (1) In what order should they be listed in (or levels of notability?), or (2) what show takes precedence when covering it (wording, theme designs, or assumptions)? There are also duplicate cases of visions, pictures or memories which can cover either timeline/universes' mention of some entity: how does one distinguish between original multiverse/Prime? OF course, this is no longer an issue once the merge is complete. Certain episode references or sentences also need changes depending on whether any pre-crisis information exists on this wiki yet, as will most links on post-crisis episodes. WE also have to make certain assumptions on shows outside the Arrowverse, and organize assumptions, appearances and other information solely based on the release date, other shows' effects on the relevant entity, and the release order (especially with UE numbering: it seems to constantly change. What is not/included in the list?) A few more questions may come in a few hours: Daxamite (talk) 07:23, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
There seems to be a sudden increase in merges, especially those that cover subjects and entities explored across different shows. Is it a hand-selected choice of how to split 1/38/UE-20's versions, or are some pages set aside to be replaced/moved after the main/Prime page is split? Usually, the priority is 1, but there are sometimes 38 or UE-20 versions mixed in for Prime, which need splitting into different pages. For example, ? which can be split into ? and ?. Another question to be asked is, how are pages not on the notice board selected for merges (such as countries, events or characters that are not yet posted?) Are they followed from links, or just off the top of a thought? There are also issues with Prime objects on post-crisis episode lists of appearances that need replacements to 1/38/UE-20: but these can be saved for performing text replacement manually/in order (without the tedious/repetitive task of fixing a page for objects without a page yet, or that are hardly mentioned, but are still split. Do you check Special:WhatLinksHere for all pre-crisis pages, as I sometimes do, or is it from the Arrowverse wiki lists?). There are a few more queries I may have in a little while. Daxamite (talk) 07:36, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
Hello? You seem to have disappeared since 12AM UTC each day of editing - before that, the edit pace is much faster from both our ends. But after a while (or a new UTC day), edits suddenly drop off and my edits are very slow to be patched through. Even your end is not making significant edits or text replacements. Is this cyclical or daily, based off your own time zone in Eastern US time/UTC-5? (Of course, while my end of the world is in night and my computer (or other editing interface) is off, you are busy making text replacements or other edits that for me, have to wait until the next day for me to check and edit on top of it.) Also, some of my edits seem to disappear for days, only reappearing months after I initially made them (such as what was posted in Aug. only being formalised in Sep.) Does it take a long time to search through pending edits, or are they eventually forgotten? Daxamite (talk) 22:15, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
As a follow-up message, you (or any other edits) seem to have disappeared for the entirety of Dec. 17 '23, with none of my edits being patched through and none from your end. What happened then, and why is there a sudden burst of edits dealing with the new DC Universe (made by a different administrator, who I am not so familiar with - and will possibly hardly interact with? THere may be a few remaining merges to be done, as you have since moved a few pages in the last few hours. I am now working back on Fandom's Arrowverse wikis, which is why I am not so active here in the past few days. Daxamite (talk) 08:07, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
For an unknown reason, on the day of 12 Jan. , the site was rendered inaccessible via any desktop interface, but I could still make edits or access the wiki on mobile (however, some of my account was likely corrupted, such as my profile avatar. I have replaced it, but the original picture cannot really be found: is it stored elsewhere on the wiki?). It is how I have been able to make (very small or repetitive) edits on mobile, despite copying text not working as it is supposed to, and so losing lines or even paragraphs that could render certain edits lost (or at least, merged - which does preserve the text, but other than a link to my user name, it does not really show that I made part of a merged edit. There is also a noticeable time lag between some of my other edits at the beginning of the month, or even in December, when they could take months to show up: by the time they are placed on the wiki, the pages might have changed signifcantly, requiring a merge, or I would have moved to a different topic besides the usual Arrowverse/DCEU/other CW shows.) See what you can make of my edits or issues accessing the site - I have checked the entire Discord server but nothing has suggested any problems in the past few months, after page merges, text bugs and UE universe issues have been fixed.
