Shazam Suits are a series of protective suits formerly used by the wizard, Shazam, and later his champions.

History

Champion of Kahndaq

Teth-Adam, better known as Black Adam

In c.2600 B.C., the Council of Wizards chose upon Hurut as their champion, bestowing upon him superhuman and mystical abilities to defend Kahndaq. After Hurut's death, his father, Teth-Adam, became the second champion, donning a black and golden suit before being buried and contained by Shazam.^[1]

Billy Batson

In 2019, with only mere days to live, Shazam decided to choose Billy Batson as his champion. As Batson shouted Shazam's name, a lightning bolt struck from the sky and transformed him into the body of an adult with a red and golden suit. Shazam then passed away, passing on his responsibilities to his champion.^[2]

All Hands on Deck

While fighting Thaddeus Sivana, Batson called his foster family together to hold on to Shazam's staff and say the wizard's name. As soon as they shouted "Shazam", all of them were bestowed with the power of the gods and suits of different colors. The family then fought together to vanquish the Seven Deadly Sins, ultimately rising up to become the heroes of Philadelphia.^[2]

Functions

Advanced Durability: To remain intact even when their users are attacked, the suits were constructed to be essentially bulletproof and invulnerable to most weapons of Earth.^[2] However, the suits themselves are capable of corroding and slowly falling apart after years of abandon, as shown on Teth-Adam's variant where it was damaged after being not in use for five thousand years.^[1]
