Early Life[edit | hide]
Around 1975, Arthur Simonson hired John to cause a fire that killed his father in order to collect a fortune on the insurance and was known by Fosnight. At some point afterward, he left the city.[1]
The Fires[edit | hide]
In 1990, Simonson hired him again to burn down multiple "historic" buildings in Central City, and unbeknownst to him, Fosnight recognized him after all these years and this caused the failure to burn the Old Customs House. The next night, John was about to burn down the Central City Cannery, but The Flash showed up. Believing the Flash to be the devil in person, he tried to kill him only to be easily disarmed and accidentally cause a fire. After the Flash stopped the fire, the Flash forced him to confess to the police, or he will go after him. After being tied to a pole, he confessed to the police.[1]
