History
In the 1980s, Krypton's natural resources were reaching exhaustion and the scientists on the planet, Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van were aware of the planet's fate. Zeta-Rho was also aware of the upcoming destruction years prior to the event and sent his son, Tal-Rho to Earth.[1]
As the people discovered Kryton's fate, a war started and accelerated the planet's ruin. Eventually, the planet was destroyed after the oceans died[2] and Kal-El, followed by her cousin, Kara Zor-El, escaped in two pods to Earth.[3] Fortunately, a small fraction of people escaped through Argo City with Zor-El staying behind to ensure their survival. Zor-El then sent himself to the Phantom Zone in hopes of survival.[4]
