Detective Edward "Eddie" Thawne[2] is a police detective of the Central City Police Department and the ancestor of Eobard Thawne, better known as the Reverse-Flash. After being resurrected by the Negative Speed Force, Thawne was sent to 2049 and lived under the name Dr.[2] Malcolm Gilmore.

In 2013, Eddie Thawne witnessed the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator explosion.[1]

Nine months later, Thawne began working with The Flash with Joe West. However, he was forced to commit suicide when he realized the villainous Reverse-Flash was his descendant.[1]
