I've started up a security firm. Business cards and all that. It's early days.

Pennyworth Security was a private security firm founded and led by Alfred Pennyworth after his retirement from the Special Air Service.

    Overview[edit | hide | hide all]

Despite multiple advertisements in the newspaper, Alfred Pennyworth soon discovered that most of his clients came by the word of mouth. The price of each job was also negotiable, with the resultant price split three ways to Pennyworth, Wallace "Dave Boy" McDougal and Deon "Bazza" Bashford.

    History[edit | hide]

    Foundation[edit | hide]

After Alfred Pennyworth retired from military activities, he founded a private security firm and began placing ads in different newspapers. However, he rarely received any clients and continued to work as a "bouncer" at the Scarlet Rope.[2]

The Queen rewards Pennyworth for his assistance

Pennyworth later ran into Thomas Wayne, who was trying to calm his sister. During the process, Pennyworth was hit in the face and Wayne apologized, leaving his business card if the former required any compensation. Pennyworth also left his business card, which served as a clue for the Raven Society to search for the missing Wayne. The Raven Society abducted Pennyworth's girlfriend, Esme Winikus, and forced Pennyworth to bring Wayne to them. He successfully located Wayne, though did not obey the order to turn him in and instead stormed the society's base of operations instead. Pennyworth rescued Winikus from danger and contacted the authorities.[2]

    Man from Whitechapel[edit | hide]

Soon, Pennyworth, McDougal and Bashford spent time at the Severed Arms, witnessing Sandra Onslow being harassed by Jason Ripper. Sid, Sandra's father, asked for Pennyworth's assistance to prevent Jason from doing so in the future. The trio accepted Sid's offer, and plotted an elaborated plan to both capture and intimidate Jason. This led to the attention of Jason's uncle, John, the "Man from Whitechapel." Through Pennyworth's proposal and negotiations, John decided to punish Jason while Pennyworth reassured the Onslows that Jason would not be returning.[3]

Pennyworth and Kane completes their tasks

The Severed Arms eventually became a place where Pennyworth's clients hire his services, including Martha Kane, who hoped to hire Pennyworth as a driver for five pounds an hour. Albeit the suspiciously high amount of money, and Kane refusing to elaborate on the subject, Pennyworth accepted her offer and was contacted soon to pick up Kane from her residence. Upon entering Pennyworth's car, Kane explained that she required Pennyworth to bring an important individual on board a plane away from the United Kingdom. They first posed as lawyers to bail Thurso from the police station using a legitimate document from the Court of Chancery, and brought Thurso's advanced computer with them. The job soon went sideways as the Raven Society ambushed them at the airport. Thanks to Pennyworth's tactics to threaten the Raven Society, Thurso was spared from his abduction and allowed to leave with his boyfriend.[4]
