In 1990, the Mask who was now a Russian national treasure, was allowed for the first time outside his home country in order to bring attention to the Central City Museum in Central City. Due to the sighting of multiple notable theft in the city, Washington sent special agent Mitch Lestrange and agent Anderson to Central City in order to protect the mask to avoid diplomatic complications.
